Words of Wisdom:  “You have never tested God’s resources until you have attempted the impossible.” —Author unknown

Never wait for a miracle.  Go after your dream.  Do your part to the very best of your ability, and ask God to make up the difference.  He won’t act until we step out in faith. (Your bridge to a better future by John C. Maxwell).

Lord Jesus, I pray that we all follow our dreams and step out in faith trusting You.  You always know what is best, and may we always glorify You.  Amen.

Quick update Thursday, Jan 8 2009

I didn’t want people on my list to come to the site and think because I was posting that I had forgotten to contact them.  The next several post I will be posting were sessions from Nov. that were on hold until Jan. for proofing.  I should be in touch with everyone by the end of the month to start taking appointment for 2009.  I have a list of seniors that will take first priority throught the first week of March.  I am not taking on any more seniors other than what is already on my list.  I am talking about 2009 seniors not the 2010 seniors on my list.  I appreciate everyone and thank God for each of you.  After I contact you with my policies at that point I will start booking my children/families/bridals/engagments/2010 seniors.   I look forward to a blessed 2009!  I can’t wait to meet all of you new clients and look forward to seeing previous clients in 2009.

Thanks & God Bless!

And the Winner is: Thursday, Dec 25 2008

Now is the time to post the winner of the complimentary session for 2009.  I had several great nominations and I wish I could do it for everyone, but it came down to only one.  I did have help with the decision and it was not an easy decision.  Well I know you are waiting.  The winner:  Crystal Hays and she was nominated by a co-worker:  Nicki Olinde.  Thank you so much Nicki for nominating this deserving lady and my heart goes out to you and your family Crystal.  I would share your story but due to the content of the story I did not feel comfortable sharing it here.  If you give me written permission to post it here I would be happy to.  I promise you after what she and her family have been through she is well deserving of this.  It is my understanding too that you always have a smile on your face despite what you have suffered and that you sing in your church and despite what the enemy meant for evil, God has redeemed for good.  May God bless you and your family and I look forward to meeting you and your family.  I hope you and your children have a very Merry Christmas.

I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas.  Remember our Savior!

God Bless!

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

PHILEMON 1:25 AMP

A state of mind that sees God in everything is evidence of growth in grace and a thankful heart.    Charles Finney

It’s better to give than receive!!! Tuesday, Dec 9 2008

I am joining a ban-wagon of photographers to give away complimentary custom photography to someone who truly deserves it.  It just feels better to give than receive.  Check out the site here and the photographer who started this up.  http://www.givingisawesome.com/  Thanks  Kristen for starting this up.

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $200 print credit when booking an appointment with Vanessa Diel Photography. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a million-dollar-home  does not qualify as sincere financial need or even a half  a million-dollar-home for that matter.

* The nominee must reside in [Northeast Louisiana within a 50 mile radius of Delhi, Louisiana]. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : [seth2001@bellsouth.net].

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!  I will have help from others to help decide on the winner because that is more than I could handle by myself.

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love and may God bless you this Christmas season!

Beautiful brother and sister and mom too! Monday, Nov 24 2008

9091-01blog

These two are just beautiful and have amazing eyes.  I had so much fun with them and mom.  I was able to capture what they both love.  B. love to hunt and P. loves to paint and wants to be an artist one day.  I believe she is well on her way.  I loved watching the sibling interaction between the two of them and they kept me laughing.  I promised mom I would post so I actually fell asleep at a decent time tonight and got up to post.  I didn’t want to break my promise to mom.  Mom is just beautiful too and what a blessing it was to photograph this family.  Here are a few from the session and I hope ya’ll enjoy.  This will be my last post until after Thanksgiving so I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving and please give thanks to the Lord.

Words of Wisdom:  “God never puts anyone in a place too small to grow.”  Author unknown

It’s human nature to think that the person you admire sitting next to you has it better than you do.  But God doesn’t see it that way.  Everyone is different.  To some people He gives five talents, to some two, and to others one.  How many you received doesn’t matter.  The question is, “What are you going to do with what you’ve got?”  (Your Bridge to a better future by John C. Maxwell).

This is so true, we always tend to think that someone has it better than we do.  We should just thank God for what we have and what He has blessed us with.  I am so thankful for what God has given me and I give all my thanks to Him.  Everything I have and do is His and for Him.  I am nothing without Him.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!  For His mercy endures forever.

PSALM 107:1

Lord, let us give You thanks for everything.  Lord bless all the children and help us to teach our children to always give You thanks.  Lord help us to teach our children to accept whatever talents You bless them with and to use their talents to glorify You.  Amen.

Thanks & God Bless!

The Awakening Tuesday, Nov 18 2008

awaken1copy-blog

Please everyone that can come to this come.  This is a spiritual awakening for anyone and everyone.  It will be a contemporay service.  My friend Erin Smith  and Sister-in-Christ of (delta point photography: www.deltapointephotography.wordpress.com and her sister-in-law have worked hard to put this together).  I am so happy to help my friends in any way I can and especially help to out reach to those in need of God.  We all need our Lord Jesus Christ in our life and sometimes its not as easy to reach those that don’t really understand who He really is.  He is amazing and can change your life.  Unlike humans, he erases your past when you repent and truly ask for forgiveness and turn from your sin.  Please come and experience this spiritual awakening with us.  I promise you won’t regreat it.  God is no respector of person and He will do for you what He has done for others.

There are T-Shirts for sale as well.  If you are interested just contact me and I can get the order turned in.  Here is the T-shirt design and you can contact me for sizes and colors.  They are $15.00 each and $16.50 for Xlarge and above.

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

ROMANS 13:11

Lord, help us to reach those that are lost and help to lead them to You.  Let us all respect each other and just know that everything we do is to glorify You.  Amen.

Hope you can come!

Beautiful Families! My longest post ever~~ Thursday, Nov 6 2008

6961-01blog

These sisters called and booked months in advance.  They knew when they would be in town visiting their parents and scheduled for that and wanted to have their parents in some photos as well.  So we did two family sessions and added the parents in as well.  It went great and I had a wonderful time.  It is such a small world because the daughters and their husbands live close to Memphis.  I met Amber years ago when she lived in Vicksburg and her parents owned a shop there.  At the time I was going through my Cancer battle and Amber’s mom was a cancer survivor and she lifted me up in prayer.  I never knew that I would be photographing them years later.  I am not even sure how Amber and her sister found out about me, but I feel so blessed to have been able to photograph these beautiful families.

Here are a few from their sessions.  Hope ya’ll enjoy!

Words of Wisdom:  PRAY; PRAY; PRAY; PRAY; PRAY; PRAY

I am so glad the election is over and now we know who to pray for specifically.  These are some things I did not base my vote on:  a) the color of one’s skin  b) because everyone else was voting for this one or that one c) because I am registered to vote a particular party and d) because someone told me I should vote for this one or that one.  I based my vote on my values as a Christian and who I thought would lead our country in a more “Christ like” way.

I am not here on earth to please people and to do what is pleasing to the people of the world.  I am here to please my Lord, my Savior.  He gave His one and only son for me and I owe Him so much more than I could ever give back.

I am concerned about those that are lost. That includes those that claim to be Christians but do not know Christ and what He stands for.  Anyone can claim to be a Christian but actions speak louder than words.

I know I woke up yesterday morning praying for our nation and prayed so hard that my energy was zapped for the day.  I praise God, and know He has a great plan.

What scares me is those that want to straddle the fence.  You are either for God or against Him.  There is no middle.  You are either saved or lost.  You are either in or out.

I want to pray for all those that are lost and I pray that they find Jesus no matter what it takes.

“Every bump in every rocky road represents a divine crossroad in our life–an opportunity to decide whether we will grow in grace and deepen our faith, or not.  We can choose to take what might appear to be a wider, smoother road but which ultimately leads to a less noble place.  Or we can take the narrower, harder road, the one to which God has clearly called us”  (Matthew 7:13-14)   (Turning Points magazine & devotional).

Thanks & God Bless!

Some scriptures:  1Timothy 6:10  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.  Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many grief’s.

Philippians 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according tohis riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 1:5  Before you were formed in the body of your mother I had knowledge of you, and before your birth I made you holy…..

Matthew 19:14  But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Romans 1: 27-28  And in the same way the men gave up the natural use of the woman and were burning in their desire for one another, men doing shame with men, and getting in their bodies the right reward of their evil-doing.  And because they had not the mind to keep God in their knowledge, God gave them up to an evil mind, to do those things which are not right…..

John 14:6  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.

2 Thessalonians 3:10  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Nehemiah 13:2 Because they did not give the children of Israel bread and water when they came to them, but got Balaam to put a curse on them: though the curse was turned into a blessing by our God.

Genesis 12 2-3 I will make of you a great nation.  I will bless you and make your name great.  You will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.  All of the families of the earth will be blessed in you.???

Matthew 6:31-34  So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:19-20  Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themseles and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Romans 14: 11-12  As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.’ So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

In closing  Jesus cares so much about the salvation of lost souls and the spiritual growth of believers that He has asked us not to just sit back and enjoy our own relationship with the Lord but, out of love and compassion for others, to take our spiritual knowledge and the gift of eternal life to a world in need. (Turning points magazine and devotional).
