I am a mother, a sister, a wife, a daughter, and a friend. I am a sinner saved by God’s grace and mercy. I put all my trust in Him and is has brought me through trials and has lead me to where I am today. Without God in my life I would not be here today. He healed me of cancer and even gave me a second child after I was told I may not be able to have any more after my chemotherapy. God is amazing and I am a living testimony. God is no respector of person and he can do for you what he has done for me. God has blessed me with this amazing talent and I want to use it to bless others. I take pride in my work and put my heart and soul into every session.
I have always enjoyed taking photographs and the passion grew evenmore after my first child. I love capturing everyone’s spirt. I get joy out of capturing life’s little moments.
I am a artist who uses a camera instead of a paint brush, pencil, or other means of artistry. I can best describe myself as “free-spirit artistic.” I love to keep an open mind and think outside of the box when it comes to photographing.
As your personal photographer, I want to document life and how you enjoy living life. I want you to feel at ease and comfortable in front of the camera.
When photographing children, I want to document what you know and love about your child. Anything forced is not what I like to capture. I like to capture genuine moments. I want to capture what your children love and their natural expressions. I love capturing a child just looking into my camera, their natural smile, or even crying. There are children who do like to perform in front of the camera and if that is what they like, then I will capture them performing.
I love artistic cropping, coloring, and angling photographs. I love applying artistic touches to photos.
I love using natural light, God gave us the light and I love it. I love taking furniture outside, into fields, streets, cemeteries, just about anywhere. I am always looking for new artistic places to capture great moments. I also love photographing in cemeteries. I am a dreamer and I love to create and capture “different” and “unique” moments.
I do not believe I am the photographer for everyone. Look at my work to see if my style reflects who you are. I would be happy to refer you to someone if traditional is what you are looking for, because I just don’t do traditional work.
Come with me on a journey and enjoy the adventure. I love what I do, and it is through God that I am able to do what I love.

Vanessa,
God has truly blessed you with a gift… what talent and love it takes to see the world the way that you do. Sean shared your website with us and I have truly enjoyed looking at the pictures. I hope to be able to speak with you about photographing our family… and the new baby in May! I know I have never met you in person, but I feel like we already know you. To have a husband light up the way that Sean does when he talk about you and ya’lls two little miracles is such a blessing. It is wonderful to see such a Godly woman find her gift… God will take you far with your talent. Please advertise, there are many of us (especially in Vicksburg) looking for a photographer (outside of our only option of WalMart!)

Vanessa,
I recently ran into Sis. Lester at a ministers banquet in Winnsboro. She overheard me saying that I worked with a photographer here. She told me about you. I wanted your web site. I love your work, it’s really nice. I was wondering if you could possibly give me the name of the program you use to make the photographs look really old, we love that and have been looking for a new program with different looking frames, also. I love the ones in front of the old truck. Please look at our website http://www.cmphoto318.com. I work with Lori Shirley of Baskin, La. Please take a look at our work and tell me what you think.
Thanks so much,
Rebecca Powell

I clicked on your site by reading one of the comments that you left Erin. First of all, thank you for being such a good friend and so supportive of Erin in her new adventure. She has truly been blessed with a gift and it is through Him that she is able to witness through her photographs. Erin is a very, very special person. Although God brought us into each other’s lives in a very peculiar way, we could not be better friends. I thank Him every day for giving my daughter such an amazing stepmother who has so much love for her! Anyway…back to the point…I wanted to compliment your site and tell you how much I enjoyed looking at your work! By the way…my little sister’s name is Kendall Grace! Have a wonderful day and Happy Holidays!

That tells you how much I know. I didn’t realize this was a blog and not a website. Either way, it’s great!!. I tried calling over the weekend. I’m sure your weekends are crazy. Give me a call when you “have time”. I know sometimes you have to make time for things to happen. Look forward to hearing from you. I want to talk you about those dinner meetings you were going to at one time.

Hey Vanessa, I met you this weekend @ Skye’s workshop. You are truly an amazing person who is a joy to be around. Now that I’ve read some of your blog, I dig you even more. You are an inspiration & you just glow with joy from just loving life. I love your work & you, as a person. Your love of Christ is some thing you make known, & you’ve inspired me to express my relationship w/Him more openly, to let everyone know…yes, I am blessed & I certainly appreciate all He has done for me & my family. He has certainly healed you for a reason & I’m so glad I got the chance to meet you!

Hey Vanessa! I am not sure you remember me…At Skye’s Monroe workshop, I was sitting in front of you with blond hair (next to Pam) when you came to class that day. I live in Slidell. I just went to your blog and your stuff is AMAZING! I love your style. I just did my first senior and am breaking into the market and you are inspiring. I love all of your blogging..it too was even more inspiring as a Christian in this business. You have encouraged me to claim HIM loudly and profess his name..even in my business-for which HE gets all the GLORY!
I just wanted to let you know you impacted me:) I will be one of your blog readers;)If I’m ever in the Monroe area, I’ll look you up too. Nice to meet you and God Bless, Jill
